Ever heard the phrase "mutual dislike at first sight?" Well, that pretty much sums up the initial interaction between Lauren Conrad and Justin Bobby. (Not to mention 99.9% of all subsequent interactions.) See, Lauren's feelings towards Audrina's recurring boyfriend have never exactly been what one would call "warm-and-fuzzy," which is why we can hardly imagine how Lauren feels now that Patridge has half the world convinced that JB and LC were secretly shacking up.
OK, technically speaking, Audrina never actually SAID her ex-roomie stabbed her in the back, but that recent non-denial she posted on her website didn't exactly do wonders for Lauren's rep.
So what's a girl to do? In LC's case, that would be racing to her computer and issuing a flat out denial -- plus, kinda-sorta calling out Audrina for helping to perpetuate the scandy fling rumors instead of putting them to a stop. And judging by what she wrote on her MySpace page, Lauren's not about to enter a guilty plea (or forgive and forget) anytime soon.
"Bottom line, I did not and would never hook up with Justin," Conrad wrote. "You know I didn't do this and I have never given you a reason not to trust me," she directed towards Audrina. "Whoever is telling you these things does not have your best interest at heart. You asked me if I did this and I told you I didn't."
And what of this mysterious someone who started the Lauren/Justin Bobby rumors in the first place? Conrad wouldn't name names, but she clearly has her theories.
"Once again someone has mysteriously called Perez Hilton and had him post another insane and completely false rumor about me," she mused. "Hmmmmmm... What kind of person would enjoy watching blogs and the press tear me apart? Who is someone that I do not get along with, that possibly has too much time on his hands (between pathetically staged paparazzi shots)?"
For his part, Spencer Pratt wasn't having any of it. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore that LC would choose to try and blame something on me," Pratt told Usmagazine.com on Friday. "Why LC continues to bring me up whenever she gets into trouble is beyond me."
Meanwhile, the MySpace manifesto wasn't LC's only attempt at setting the record straight. On Friday, she also lashed out via Usmagazine.com, telling the gossip site "I'm being accused of being a bad friend, a slut and a liar all at once. It would actually be funny to me if people weren't taking it seriously." (Those remarks would later reappear on her MySpace page).
"The worst thing," Conrad went on, "is knowing that a friend, that I've known for years and even shared a home with, thinks that I'm capable of that kind of betrayal."
