When you really think about it, "houseguest" is just another word for "mooch." These unwelcome (and often unemployed) interlopers generally arrive unannounced, appropriate your couch, eat all your nonperishables and leave only after you (a) forcibly evict them, (b) demand that they start kicking in for rent or, (c) forget to pay the cable bill.
That said, when your girlfriend's sister shows up at your doorstep, most of us would nonetheless pull it together and give her at least a lukewarm reception. Then again, most of us are not Spencer "Nice is my middle name" Pratt.
