Yesterday I introduced you to one of my East Coast picks, Fresh. But here are a couple of other cool crews that caught my eye at this weekend’s NYC casting call:
Illusions from Brooklyn, NY: “We always dreamed of a show like this. When we saw it last season, we couldn’t believe we weren’t on it. Dancers have always been looked at as the bottom, the background. And now dance is working its way up. It’s our time to shine.”
Next Level from Queens, NY: “We want to get married to dance. We’ve got so much love and passion for it. God comes first, and then dance. It’s in our heart, it’s in our soul.”
Fully Loaded from Philly: “We blend together hip-hop and classical dance. There are no boundaries — anything is possible.”
2 NYCE from Brooklyn, NY: “We do a particular type of dance called flexing, which is like a mixture of gliding and weaving and popping. It’s a lot of urban B-Boy hip-hop with a new-school flow. We just want to expose that to the world.”
Caution from Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx, NY: “Our crew is like gumbo. You put everything in a pot and stir it, and it tastes real good at the end.”

i think u guys look good and could make it but you have to bring passion, talent, and hope so try your best! and try to do unbeliveable things that no one tryed to do to get a better chance!good luck! from your friend arianna

Just wanted to know a little about that group that was spinning, EraFusion I think was there name. They were dope.

I don’t think the 2nd season will top the 1st. Jabbawockeez killed it for the next 10 season remember. They will still kill it after 10.

all of dance groups are very talented. most people could never do what they do. dancing is a way of life. god bless all of the groups.

There are other dance crews out there BETTER than Jabba, Kaba and MOST DEFINETELY Status… They just need to be discovered. Other crews just don’t have the money or other means of getting to the auditions. We’ll just watch and wait…

it’s unfair to compare other crews to the Jabbawockeez.. they’re composed of All-Stars.. each one is a director or overlord of their own crew.. they just come together like Voltron and ain’t nobody beating them! Let’s see what S2 brings, but I agree.. Jabba4life!

i think its unfair to totally just shut off other crews…u know there are millions of other crews out there and u have to give them a chance…only thinking about the jabbawockeez when thinking about dance is a slap across the face of what we call the true passion of dancing and im sure the jabbawockeez would hate it too if no one gave other dance crews a chance

I would like to see The Movement come back. I think they have a whole lot more than what we saw on mtv. I can tell they have what it takes by the way they move. I a performance they did here in NYC, those guys were great. They are true performers…

Seriously guys… just watch and wait. Someone WILL TOP Jabba. I’m not putting down Jabba at all. I knew from the start that Jabba would win (even tho I Kaba was my favourite lol)But wouldn’t you guys rather see an equal or even better crew than Jabba so that Jabba would step up even more (if they come back)? If you guys keep saying that no one will top Jabba and that the 2nd season is not gonna be good at all cos of what they have done, then you’re pretty much brining down the whole show altogether. I personally want to keep this competetion going, a high level competition, that is. And by HOPING and BELIEVING that there will be a much better crew than Jabba (or Kaba :D), then there will be a competition that will blow us all away. In the end, we all want to be satisfied. That make sense?

in all honesty.. I think Season 1 had an amazing mix of talented crews that just made great TV and season 2 will probably ride on the coattails of S1’s popularity and buzz (let’s face it, the “prized demographic” is totally into ABDC)
anyhows I think that *overall*, because of the buzz s1 generated and this being summer.. s2 will have a better cast overall than s1.. (like if you average it out)
but s1 imnho is just HARD to beat.. Live-n-Color was FIERCE and got eliminated way too early, breaksk8 got jamming LOCKED and was always fun to watch, Kaba was doing their thing and we even had mad tricks n stunts with StatQuo and of course the best being the jabbawockeez’ thetrical unforgettable performances
i think s1 is just the best but I predict s2 will have a better cast overall

Youre out of your mind if you think there isnt anyone better than jabba out there. Taking nothing away from jabba because they are very very good but there are some nasty crews out there. If anything jabba set the standard and now all the other crew are gonna come out. ABDC 2 will be very interesting.

I saw some of the names of crews coming out and they are FIRE! Very good teams. OK, Jabba is a good dance crew, but THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY GOOD DANCE CREW. You gave them a chance by watching them so do the same for the other crews. I personally still think Jabba is a good/ok dance crew. Honestly, speaking I have seen some better but for the show, they were ABDC.
