The casting process has already begun for the second season of America’s Best Dance Crew. This weekend tons of crews headed to the Big Apple for quite the East Coast showdown. I hung out with New Jersey’s “Fr3sh,” a crew that formed in 2003 at a Filipino Independence Day Parade. They’ve spent the last five years practicing for a chance in a lifetime like being chosen to compete for the title of America’s Best Dance Crew. “Getting to the finals would mean so much. It would make all the difficult times worth it — the late nights, fighting with our parents, dancing in studios with no mirrors…”
Fr3sh had to bail on trying out for the first season of America’s Best Dance Crew because none of the group members could take time off from school. Luckily this new season will be a summer affair: “When we found out about it, we were like, ‘Dude, this is it. This is our calling.’ All of our fears and worries about missing school were over and we could completely concentrate on dancing.”
The crew also has a “junior” sect of the company (ages 9 - 17), which they refer to as their inspiration for working so hard. “It has a huge effect on their morale, and they feel like they can do anything if we go for it.”
While Fr3sh admit they have a lot more to learn, they feel pretty confident about their skills and chances of making it to the finals. “We want it so bad. We’ve met a lot of dope people here — there are so many different teams on this one coast — but we think we’ll stand out because of our versatility.”

this crew has no shot. i seen them perform before and they’re not all that. and to even think they’re anywhere near the same stratosphere as the crews that were on last season of abdc is just foolish.

you’re entitled to your opinion, however you dont need to down them by saying that. Im on their junior team (fr3sh juniors) and we work really hard, meaning Fr3sh works even harder. They dont work hard for people like you to tell them they suck, they do it for the love of dance, and to make friends and family proud.

If you’re so badass why dont you step your game up and take FR3SH up for a battle? Trust, these guys will smoke you.
BTW, MTV, if you don’t pick these kids you are hella foolish. Not only are they insane dancers but they have a HUGE east coast following. You’d get votes all the way from Chicago, California, Boston, Philly, DC, even CANADA if you’d let them vote. That’s bigger ratings for you guys. If you don’t put them on your show… you’re losing on the best ratings this show will ever SEE!

have some respect please, “blah”. all you have to do is NOT vote for them. no need to badmouth anyone cuz everyone has a fair chance…hence the audition process. if u dont wanna see them on the show then dont watch it. these people work extremely hard to reach ANY level of success. so instead of saying they have no shot, why didnt you put together your own team and audition? cuz like..this IS a dance show right? so my point is: GO FR3SH!

I saw their youtube videos and im sorry but i wasnt impressed. looks like something you see at a local high school talent show.

FR3SH is about uniting the dance community not breaking it.
Haters give us inspiration to always remember why we dance: for the love of it.
