Introducing Cassia from ‘The Paper’

My new friend, Cassia, who’s also the current Entertainment Editor at The Circuit, will be piping up every Tuesday to share her perspective on what went down the prior evening on The Paper.

Here’s a little something to chew on from Cassia before Monday night’s premiere episode:

Hi All,

I signed up for journalism four years ago because I wanted to change/inform/better the world by divulging hidden truths through my writing. Currently, I am the Entertainment Editor of Cypress Bay High’s multi-award winning newspaper, The Circuit. Being a leader among a group of competitive students, I always keep an open mind to avoid confrontation. Because of this, I’m often called the peacemaker of the bunch – the voice of reason amongst a throng of insanity.

Allow me now to introduce you to the other uncompromising personalities that make up The Paper:

First, in the very unlikely case that you missed her in The Paper trailer, there’s my good friend Amanda. She is known to burst into song and not-too-wonderful dance. Amanda is 100 percent dedicated to The Circuit. As the Copy Editor, she looks over every story that makes it into each issue.

Alex, everyone’s favorite and most un-athletic Sports Editor, used to hang with Amanda and me all the time, but everything changed after the new editor positions were announced (you’ll see…). Now he and Dan are inseparable. Dan is the class jokester who has crowned himself King of Headlines, or “Headitor.” When he and Alex are together, there’s no stopping their (often inappropriate) wise-cracking. Those two spend a lot of time with Trevor and Giana, the steaming newspaper couple. As the esteemed Clubs Editor, Giana is known for her brutal honesty and constant eye-rolling (usually directed towards Adam). Trevor is a lay-out Master and analytical whiz kid with gorgeous eyes. Both lovers have little patience for Amanda’s seemingly domineering ways.

Lastly there’s Adam, our record-breaking Advertising Manager, can be described in four phrases: loud, dramatic, stressed-out, Ad-Blitz. If there’s gossip, Adam started it; if there’s a phone, Adam’s screaming into it; if there’s a musical, Adam’s most likely singing it to you right now.

That’s all for now… Can’t wait to hear what you think of the show!
