Talk about bittersweet. The last week of summer sucks when you’re young, no matter how much your parents remind you how lucky you are to actually have “summer’” as you know it. Russy and Diggy don’t seem too down about it as Episode 10 kicks off, though. Rev hands them a video camera and suggests they document their last days, most of which they seem to spend skating. Justine joins them, attempting to flex her skills on the board, and it ain’t pretty. Forget a nail, she’s lucky she didn’t break her arm. She later gets revenge on Diggy by buying the poor kid a pink helmet. That’s cold.
While Russy and Diggy skate away the rest of summer, their three older sibs are making moves of their own. Well, Vanessa’s still getting her shine on Guiding Light, but Angela just wants to move to L.A. Vanessa isn’t sure she can trust her sister enough to bring her to the TV studio. Shoot, it’s not as if Angela’s going to meet the head writer of the show and suggest he kill off Vanessa’s character or anything. Oh wait, yes, that’s exactly what happens. That’s cold, part II. (Vanessa soon thereafter gets notice her character only has a couple episodes left. At least she’s not leaving Run’s House any time soon…)
And then there’s Jojo, who’s finally ready to make the leap from recording studio to superstardom, with absolutely positively no help from his rap legend father. OK, maybe just a little bit. He needs Run to set up a meeting with him for his group Team Blackout (sounds a little bit too much like a summer camp volleyball team, no?), which consists of he and his boys Reggie and Zach. Dad sets them up with the indie label Latchkey Recordings, whose suit-less suits are quick to inform him, “You’re here because of your dad.” And worse, there’s no advance! But Team Blackout just wants a start, and they sign a deal the next day. That’s hot.

Did anyone notice Jojo’s idiot friend Zach had a nasty hickie on his neck when they went to that meeting with Latchkey? Ummm Run you need to teach these kids some business ethics-I went to Cinnabon one day and this girl had a big hickie on her neck… I refused to buy anything that groced me out I mean really who does that anymore?

I would like to leave this message for the Reverend; I would like to thank you for allowing yourself and your family to make these episodes for MTV. To me you are the only shows they have that are worth watching, well some time I do find Scared amusing, but it is a refreshing pace to see a father doing what a father is supposed to. Hey if you ask me I say you should get the MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD. Keep it real, keep God first, and have a great New Year.

I just watched Run on NYE with Kid Rock and his kids. It was great. As much BS as there is out there with kids growing up wrong, it’s nice to see a dad and mom who know how to raise kids even with all the evils of all that money. I loved seeing you sing with Kid as I’m originally from Michigan (been in Atlanta 25 years now). But my heart just melted when I saw Diggy out there dancing in front of God, America and everybody. And JoJo singing with you too. That was great. I loved the episode when you and Kid went to Hooters. My 9 year old daughter loves “hooties” as she calls it. I got such a kick out of the bumper stickers.
All I have to say to you is your whole family is full of great entertainers and you should be very proud that you don’t end up in the news like the Spears or Lohan’s of the world. Maybe we can all say a prayer for them. I think you are the most normal famous people I know. God Bless. Tori

Happy New Year!
Rev,Justine,Van-Angela,JoJo,Diggy,Russy. What a blessed family. My sister got me hooked last summer and I’ve been watching ever since. Justine you are such a great Mommy. I love how you interact with Diggy and Russy. I definately get on my sons skateboards they are 5&6 yrs. old, ride their small dirt bikes, get on the sit and spin, swing on their small round swing. I have even raced them bare foot in the street (old school). Thanks for sharing your life with so many of us Moms. One more thing. I know you are trying to get your weight down. Count me in on loosing with you as a goal for being healthier for us and our families. Maybe that can become part of the show. The viewers loosing weight with you. No pressure. I’m sure you have enough. Peace and love.
