Two weeks back, Run practically forced Russy and Diggy to have friends come stay over, dubbing it “Camp Rev.” But this episode it’s Run’s turn to have a sleepover! Kid Rock is coming to town, y’all. I haven’t seen the Reverend this excited since he was planning Diggy’s wedding with Ja Rule. He even gets a little possessive, telling Justine Rock is HIS friend. But when Uncle Rock shows up (even brings his hat box), he seems to do the most bonding with Russy. This includes a trip to Sam Ash, where “Uncle Rock” buys the 11-year-old a $3,000 guitar. “Lucky you got a rich uncle,” he tells him, and for a second I thought he meant Russell.
But the best trip of Episode 8 comes when they go out to eat, and nothing spells good family fun like the Hooters in Hackensack, New Jersey. Kid Rock suggests to the Simmons they have a “fresh tee-shirt contest,” but no one else really participates, and I’m pretty sure it was just an excuse for him to finally wear his “I Heart Black People” shirt anyway. The “contest” pays off for Russy, though, who gets showered with compliments from the Hooters girls for wearing a shiny hand-me-down from Rock.
Vanessa and Angela aren’t around because they’ve been asked to meet with the anti-Hooters girls: The Girl Scouts of America. Impressed with their entrepreneurial skills (aren’t we all?), the Girl Scouts ask the sisters to come in and offer the girls some mentoring. They happily oblige, and the young girls they meet have lofty goals. One even plans to sell A MILLION boxes of Girl Scout cookies. I say she asks rich Uncle Rock.
Run and Rock do finally get a little time alone toward the end of the episode, talking about the joys of fatherhood. But it’s time for Rock to jet, and in a moment of television history no one could have predicted, they tell each other “I love you.” But the sentimentality is short-lived, as Rock stickers Run’s car before he goes. Now Run wants revenge. So watch your back, Kid Rock. Run, I suggest you hit ‘em where it hurts: Go after the hat box.
Like they say, if you don’t know you better ask somebody, and a few of you have left comments asking what song it was Run was playing by the pool at the end of the Camp Rev episode. It was Kurtis Blow’s classic track “The Breaks.” Bump it proudly…

ijust want to say run and justine have a good raising their children in their where its so hard to do having strong and positive parents that love the lord which on tv seemed not allowed all the positive programs they take off and no nonsense programs on.up and until the kid rock episode i always thought justine was all the childrens mother that confused me for a minute you would have thought she gave birth to all of them that love she has is beautiful dont see that often seems like everyone would be competing for runs love and thats not the case there one love one heart.

The kid’s mother showed on Run’s House–Was she Angela, Vanessa, & JoJo’s mom? I did not know Justine was not all the kids mom. She is excellent with all the kids but now that the real mother was shown the girls do have a striking resemblence to their real mom. Justine is great though and the love really show!!

I have been a fan of RUN DMC since I was growing up in Philly in the 80’s. I came from a broken home, and like many teens, my music was my sanctuary. You helped me through many hard times growing up. I was lucky enough to see one of your early shows in Philly. You and your crew gave us amazing rap, and launched a whole new world of music, and fashion, I still rock my adidas, and still rock to your music, and now in my 30’s I have 3 amazing kids that now know about your life through your fab show. I learned from you can be famous, yet grounded, family first, love and resepct, and find your success in all you do. Enjoying life, and thanking God for our blessings. Rev, you were and always will be one of the most positive role models in my life. You and Justine should be praised for raising an amazing, and talented loving family. Your children are proof positive of the love and support you give to them. Rev was a positive influence in my life, and now my children can still enjoy your music, your love of God, and being a wonderful father, and again a positive role model. Thank you for the years of music, and the future of the next RUN generation. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! God Bless. Melanie in Dallas (formerly a Philly Girl)

This family is great! I love this show. Rev has all that money and still acts like the perfect dad. There family is awsome!
December 1st, 2007 at 8:54 pm
I and my mom were both shocked that Justine is not Vanessa, Angela and JoJo’s mother. You would have never known the way she treats all of the children. God Bless Justine and Rev Run for being a perfect example of getting a family together, even when someone’s not the biological parent of some of the children. Love your show and continue to show America that just because your wealthy in money, you can be rich in love, caring for people and family.

I was thrown for a loop when the caption said that the lady in the spa was Vanessa, Angela and JoJo’s mother. I always thought that Justine was their mother. Justine has set a perfect example for many woman that you don’t have to be the biological mother to have love for someone’s else’s child. Rev Run also gets credit for being a postive roll model, because there has to be much understanding, love and caring for people to come together the way his family has. I love your show, I can watch it over and over. May God continue to bless of you and Run’s House.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the bedding/comforter in Justine and Rev’s bedroom? I just love it.
December 2nd, 2007 at 10:27 am
I love this show and the family!! Rev is a wonderful father, very understanding and caring. Everyone should be blessed to have such a great dad. Justine is a awesome mom. She is such a great mother we couldnt even tell the difference between the kids. This family is a great example of what todays families should be like. They are so rich in love and family that you kinda forget that they are so wealthy. Good job Rev and Justine on raising your family and living a good life. God Bless this family

i like watchingRun’s house. But he is a fool a real live one here he is supose to be a man of God and a father but he acts like a fool no real man of God would act like he does. What kind of Rev. is he? If i was him i would be very careful how i act on tv. Here u are a man of the cloth and your teasing your son about girls. you should be telling him he is to young to date and if he has a play date with a girl them someone should be there watching them and you are not a humble man. You look for praises God hates a haugthly person he loves the meek and the humble ones now think about it you have a lot of viewer and they most feel the same as i do.

This is the firt time I have actually seen this show. It wasn’t bad at first and overall is probably a good show, seems you all like it. I had to change the channel though because I wasn’t happy with something said by Kid Rock. When he baught the little boy the guitar I that was awesome of him, any little kid would be stoked to get that. But it was the comment he made about his “old” guitar that kinda pissed me off. I guess it’s not good because it came from Indonesia. I’m not Indonesian, have no Indonesian in my blood, but love the people over there with all my heart and I try to look out for them. I donate several months of mine out of each year trying to help the less fortunate over there ever since the 2004 tsunami. To down grade the guitar, ultimately downgrading the people, I found a little hard. I tried to keep watching the episode but couldn’t, it just got to me a little too much. Being American myself, I wish America wasn’t so stuck on itself thinking we are the best out there. We are a good country as a whole and I enjoy the freedom we have but that doesn’t mean I am better than any other human being from any country. I didn’t choose to be born in America just like they didn’t choose to be born in Indonesia, God put us where we are, some fortunate in life and others a little less. Just had to vent a little and I’m not meaning to offend anyone. Thanks.

Ok some of you guys I think are taking some things to seriously. It’s just a reality show that’s acted out. Rev is supposed to act like that. In real life he’s a really respectable dude all the things he does on the show is just to get more viewers. On another case I really didn’t like this current epipsode. It didn’t seem like anything really happened. There were too many commercials and less of the show. Hope the next episode is better.

I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to have a reality show on mtv that can be funny and entertaining while also teaching values. Rev run gives the generations after the babyboomers a light at the end of the tunnel. To show how life can be pleasurable and fullfilling without profanity, excess and sex is not done enough on TV these days. I grew up in the days of sit coms where there was always a mral to the story and a lessn to be learned. Todays younger generation is more and more babysat and parented by the TV so I’m glad there is at least oe person willing to be a positive role model. I hope after this Rev run will consider writting a sit com or something that is fun yet clean. God is love Emily

First, I would like to say I love your show. I grew up listening to Run DMC, and miss the old days when everybody seemed to get along and all seemed peaceful- what a sheltered life I led. I am a huge fan of Adidas- and while watching the show I remembered that is what Run DMC always wore, and am proud to say that I too, only wear Adidas. The very first episode of Wildin’ Out that I watched was with Rev Run and my favorite part was when he asked Nick Cannon “why you wearing my Adidas?” I am positive Adi Dassler from Geramny would be proud to say Run still sports his brand- because all of the Simmons are Entrepreneurs just like he was. Keep up the good work that all of you do and remember it’s “Who’s House? It’s RUN’S HOUSE!

I love the show!!!!! Rev and Justine have done a great job raising thier children. I think it’s great that Angela and Vanessa are rolemodels for the girlscouts of America. They couldn’t have asked for better rolemodels. It’s nice that there is a tv show still out there that my kids and I can enjoy together. Loved the episode with Kid Rock! By the way Rev, did you ever get the Hooters bumper sticker off your car?

Hey Russ; I was a Marine in Africa when your dad did Walk This Way, we thought it rocked!! See if you can get the Aerosmith guys to show you how to amp up the black Les Paul on an episode. I play one through a Marshall ampifer, it is a great guitar. Rock on dude, Mose from Indiana.
