It’s a Rap!

Kendra did not win ‘Celebrity Rap Superstar’

Several mysteries were revealed on tonight’s finale of ‘Celebrity Rap Superstar’.
Where have I heard that theme song from? or What would it be like if we could see MC Lyte, Redman and Bubba Sparxx performing together?

These and several other questions were answered tonight was that night as hip hop history was made. If you find yourself Tivoless reading this blog…
Don’t cry, dry your eye.
I’ve got your back and the entire almost historical clip after the jump…

Shar and Kendra face off to be the ‘Celebrity Rap Superstar’

This show started with a duo between the booty shakin’ champ Kendra Wilkinson and Shar Jackson, performing ‘It Takes Two.’ The performance was predictable at best except for the outfits. Was it just me or does Shar and Kendra look sharper and hotter than ever? I was especially loving Kendra’s subliminal “watch my other reality show” outfit with the blinged out Playboy logo.

The next performance was the guys singing ‘Shake Ya Tailfeather.’ I gotta say, we didn’t really learn too much.

Jason Wahler still sucks.

Jason Wahler is still too good for rehearsal and obviously still not good enough to be a rapper. Efren also performed foolishly doing the complete opposite by trying to rap too hard. The most surprising revelation about the men’s performance was HOW FREAKING AWESOME Jamal turned out to be!

Jamal should have stayed longer in CRS.

It was sad to see him be the first to go, we might have had a real rap competition if he made it to the final 2 with Shar.

Sebastian is the new Kid Rock

Sebastian took his own stage when he performed ‘Slam.’ Which also leads me to mention. What’s with the early nineties hip hop all over this show? We will definitely get to Naughty by Nature in a moment… But seriously. All the music seemed to be trapped in a time warp.It was the ladies turn to perform and it made a lot of sense to stick Perez Hilton with the rest of the ladies…

Perez Hilton obviously wants to be Hef.

At first perplexed but not surprised at all at Perez Hilton’s ‘I want to be Hugh Hefner’ outfit with a pair of sexy dancers to match, the performance itself was not as exciting. After the performance, Kevin Hart needed to confirm that he still not attracted to Perez or men after that performance. (What a strange comment!)

Rappers Delight indeed.

However, the best performance of the night was definitely the mentor’s performance of the hip hop classic ‘Rappers Delight.’ Words cannot express. Just watch the clip:

After the amazing mentor’s performance, we were privvy to see the finalists Shar & Kendra’s favorite performances.

Kendra gets down and dirty in the audience!

For Kendra it was to pay homage to her mentor Too Short’s ‘Blow the Whistle.’ And she tore it apart. Getting down and dirty with the audience, Kendra looked the most comfortable as a rapper than ever. For Shar, it was an encore performance of ‘Get Ur Freak On.’

Shar does an encore Missy performance.

Now for me to be all surprised and tell you who the winner was is kind of lame cause anyone semi paying attention to the show could easily tell that Shar was the winner from jump. Even if you got it wrong, have a 50/50 chance. And you would find out.

Shar and Kendra wait for the fateful moment.

What did surprise me is Shar shedding a tear. For a woman who was so strong, it was really nice to see her appreciation for the title. She made us believe week after week that she wanted it, and when we gave it to her she didn’t take it for granted.

Shar is the ‘Celebrity Rap Superstar’

Although I would have liked to see Shar and MC Lyte have a bigger hug or have Shar give her mentor more props. After 8 weeks of listening to some version of ‘Hip Hop Hooray’ we finally got to see Naughty by Nature perform the song .

Naughty by Nature and Kendra’s bootyshake.

With the cheers from the song and the crowd we wrapped up the first season of ‘Celebrity Rap Superstar.’ With a complimentary booty shake from Kendra.

Shar is the winner!

We sent Shar Jackson towards a greater level of purpose beyond being K-Fed’s baby mama. And I know I can’t wait to see what she’s got up her sleeves in the future.

It’s a Rap!”

  1. Hey...Just wanted to say that was a nice post. I am very happy that Shar won...that is all I really have to say...(My first choice was Sebastian Bach-he was the most talented to me!)..
Nice to see that singing/and or rapping talent is what the final vote was on..and not just.. "booty shaking"....PEACE!!!! ;)
  2. Congrats to Shar....she was deserving and it was evident that she worked hard for the title. I really enjoyed CRS and I hope it comes bach with a round two!
  3. i thoough kendra shouldof 1 btcongrats shar
  4. Thanks for bloggin the finale. My DVR cut off right before Shar's performance! I wouldn't have known how the rest of the show went down without this. Shar is AMAZING! I'm just waitin for an album! =P
  5. CONGRATS SHAR J.

You did work it out girl.

    Skill vs. Booty shakin.

In the rap game skill should always come before Booty shakin. The booty shakin, no skills and dumb lyrics is what is killin the rap game to this day.
  6. It was evident who should have one this competition. Anyone can rap or should I say attempt to rap. It takes skill to be able to rap and have the attitude and swagger that Shar portrayed week after week. I enjoyed Sebastian but to be a rapper you have to have the look, the feel and the sound. Shar turned out every song even when she messed up.... BIG CONGRATS TO YOU! And I can't wait to bump LET IT BLOW! in my ride!!!!
  7. gurl i want you to know i loved the loley pop micorphoe and the skirt was sooooooooo cute you are a real gangsta gurl you shaked your ass out
thier. if i were there id do the same thing
  8. I thought shar was great!!! Kendra wasn't even okay, not in my book. she sucks really bad at rapping. she only had her booty going for her. soon you lose that. she will never gain a rapper's talent. it takes talent to do real rapping. she doesn't have that. I can never understand why some caucasian people try to hang.
please stop trying to be something your not!
  9. Sad to say, I believed that this show was a joke. It was garbage. I was happy to see the two black women having a lil flavor, show some semi hiphop talent. Shar did her thing spitting Twista's track, however, it goes to show that everyone can not be made as a hip hop artist. Shar was good, but that chick Kendra that yelled with no tone like a lil school girl just had to go. That was an insult. To her, comedy to me. I couldn't believe Too Short stood side by side with her, but I guess that is "show bizness".

The show did not make since. Not at all. I read the previews and heard it being talked up and couldn't believe what I saw the first time. The second and third show, horrible.

Also, when Shar won, did you hear what she said? "I may consider rapping."

What is up with this? No wonder I haven't heard anything too good lately. People playing around with it.
  10. Alright this show was the funniest crap I've ever seen in my life! It was sooo worth watchin just to crack up at the dumbass Jason Wahler being his baller self and ofcoure of friend Pedro rocked the %@? like a regular psycho! Seriously if any of you watched it I just about crapped my pants when he started screaming into the %@? "INSANSE IN THE BRAIIN!" It was so wonderful to watch this sad display play out! Thank you MTV for being so pathetic, please fire the guy who came up with the concept to this sad sad saad show.
