   I'm not against Miss American Pageants what so ever. I find it entertaining and encouraging to the young women of America to compete for such titles. Flawless poise and knowledge are wonderful things to achieve for. However, this show has completely diminished and ruined any respect that I have for those who win such titles. They are not the type of women I want representing me! They are disrespectful to themselves and their audience, as well as immature. As a hard working and devoted person my self, I want someone worthy of representing my generation! I believe that the way the girls are acting is embarrassing and should be questioned. With such a wonderful title and great power, wouldn't you think that they would rather spend their time helping those in need or doing something more meaningful? Not to mention Donald Trump! You have all this money and these beautiful girls at your fingertips... you could have them work towards a common goal helping out the WORLD... and this is what you pick? I'm sorry but the future of our country and this world is in our hands... and if those who are in the spot lights (our mentors) don't respond better, why do you think any other ordinary person would?

   why is it that tara was miss usa 2006, rachel is miss usa 2007, riyo is miss universe 2007, but katie is miss teen usa 2006. why isnt the 2007 teen usa on the shower-i believe her name was heather???????????? it doesnt add up.

   monica-maybe because they started taping the show before they had the Miss Teen USA 2007 pageant, which was August 24 (Rachel was crowned March 23) ...and her name is Hilary- a simple check to the missteenusa.com web site would've told ya that.
   
   As for Shar, you can't trust how (just about) anyone is portrayed on any "reality" show-the producers get a million hours of footage, egg the people on to say things, and edit it down to 20 minutes a week to create a character that people will either love, hate, or just love to watch.
   
   I agree for the most part with Kelly...but come on, it's Donald Trump...if he sees an opportunity to make money and/or be on T.V., he's not going to give it up.
   They have done some charity/advocacy work, and Rachel wants to start a philanthropic organization. She's volunteered a bunch, including with the Boys & Girls club. But I agree, they should focus more on that in the show-if we're supposed to look up to these beauty queens, we ought to be shown more of the good they're doing.

   Alright, I guess it is my turn. I have to somewhat agree with Kelly mainly due to the way the these young ladies were being portrayed. I am sure alot of it was editing. I watched this episode, expecting just what I got. REALITY TV. Being a avid pageant fan for over 2 decade, I do believe that in this day and age, Mr. Trump is making a smart move no matter how bad it may look. Pageants are slowly disappearing. Miss America can only be seen on a cable network, Miss Teen USA is no longer being televised and it is only a matter of time before Miss USA and Miss Universe joins their younger sister. I believe that Mr. Trump is making a valiant attempt to keep this pageant alive. A MTV Reality Show, what better way to reach a new and younger audience. After this show is over, I do believe that many more individuals will tune into the 2008 Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants which will bring the ratings up. The Miss America Organization will also benefit from this. As for comments from the show. Rachel has a right to be a little angry because no matter how you look at, it is her year to reign. She won that right fair and square. So if it were me, I'd be a little pissed also. And I am sure at least 90 percent of the past titleholders would feel the same way, including Tara. Do have a good day.

   I have waited to watch this show. Last night I watched it and would have continued to watch other shows untill I saw that Tara was coming back. Her year is over. Period! I will not watch this show anymore. I have enough respect for the current Miss USA that I will not be a part of the ratings going higer b/c of this being done to her. The message I got from the show "Do your job "right" and you enjoy being miss usa for a year. Do things wrong and enjoy it for Two years!

   First it is important to understand pageant systems, the responsibility of having a title, and being in the National/International spotlight. General public is very quick to judge people based on a 20 min. show. Shar...Do you know Miss USA 2007 enough to think that she is a “female dog?”?? If you do, then more power to you, but if not is all of that really called for? Being a current title holder of a national pageant, everyone who steps on that stage works really hard to get there. Winning the title is a tangible artifact of that hard work. Lets lift each other up other than calling other females who are doing good things for our community and that are successful out of their names.
   
   Lastly lets ask ourselves a question, would you honestly watch this show if it was full of these girls doing nothing but community work, baking cookies, and holding hands singing "We are the World"???? I THINK NOT! Television is supposed to be entertaining. With all of the good that they are doing, a little drama has to be in the mix to keep it a little spicy. Congrats girls on your win...and I think that that Rachel is being a trooper so far with the whole Tara situation.

   In response to Shar... I recently met and got to hang out with Rachel Smith at the Miss Tennessee USA pageant, and she happens to be the nicest person I have EVER met. She is very humble and it is very obvious that she cares about everyone she comes in contact with... just to correct you.

    I finally got to watch the first episode and was very happy to see how realistic the show was till I got the news about Tara coming to work for the Miss Universe organization. I do respect everything Tara has done, going to rehab & straightned her life, but her year is over and she had her chance. We have a new Miss USA and is totally disrespecful to her. Bringing Tara back is the worst mistake the organization has done and is going to continue to tarnished the image of Miss USA and Miss Universe. I will not watch this show anymore.

    I am at a total loss here, what is Tara Conner doing back in the public eye?? Has this person not disgraced the title enough during her reign, but now she has to ruin Rachels year. She was an embarrsement to all beauty queens, Vanessa Williams actions were prior to her reign, this girl from Kentucky drank, boozed, drugged and no telling what all during her reign, there is no excuse for the behavior. As for Rachel and the reigning Miss Universe what an example of what the titleholder should be, they are both poised and classy. Rachel has done an excellent job in spite of the tarnished organization called Miss Universe. Katie, well we have moved on and so should she, her year is over and she needs to let the current title holder do her job as well. As for the fighting and bickering between Tara and Katie, I ask who really cares??? I am so surprised that Donald Trump has been so snowballed by this Tara that he cant think past his own personal ambitions that most likely involve her. I would hope the Miss Universe Organization would work on its image, as this is a wonderful format for young women. Sometimes you just have to take out the trash..... and leave it in the dump where it belongs. I wish only the best to Riyo and Rachel as they attempt to serve the title well.

    I agree with all of you that do not like how they are bringing Tara back. What is this teaching people today? If you do drugs and completely mess up a great opportunity like becoming Miss America, you will be rewarded with an extention in your reign. How about rewarding the Miss America's who did a good job during their year, not the ones who gave the organization a bad name.

    Donald Trump is a smart man. Tara was so brought back for the ratings and to be a catalyst for show. However his decision to bring back this disgrace is very disrespectful to the current miss USA. Like he'd ever care about being disrespectful over ratings and an influx of cash. Silly me.

    I thought that pageant girls, or women were suppose to be graceful and someone that the world looks up to..... for a yr. But Katie is the complete opposite she's a shiesty %%@#@! and her boyfriend Josh couldn't be a more horrible boyfriend! Why is he riding her coat-tail?     Tara has every right to be on tv, as well as showing her face on Pageant Place. What Vanessa Williams did when she reigned as Miss America is far worse than Tara's drinking and drugging due to her painful past in Kentucky. Everybody knows what Tara endured, she talked about it briefly to Matt Lauer. She deserved a second chance, she is human and she had a legitimate excuse.

    This show is a disgrace!!! Having the title of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA as well as Miss Universe has been defiled by these queens and this show. Tara is definitely not a person I, or any other person, should look to emulate. Yes, everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance and Tara got her second chance the moment she decided and became clean of drugs and alcohol. The respect I had for these pageants is totally gone!

    I just watched the latest episode, and Miss USA is SO out of line. She acts like Miss Teen USA is so immature and childish but Miss USA has her head so far up her ***. She thinks Katie is immature, well she isn't the one leaving little snooty comments constantly and also if Miss USA wasn't so immature then why would she care so much about those flowers! She said "blah" and "puppy love" its almost like she's jealous. She never has ANYTHING nice to say. She's a lonely girl. If she was so MATURE and above everything she would stop thinking she was the greatest thing since sliced bread and stop acting like she's so much better than everybody else. This #%@@$ should NOT have won because she is so ARROGANT. At least Katie is able to be honest with her feelings and tell Miss USA that she is degrading but Miss USA is apparently "too good" to hear it.

    Vanessa Williams did not do anything wrong DURING her reign. Those pics were taken BEFORE she was crowned Miss America. I would aslo say, underage drinking and drugs are A LOT worse than a few nude pics, that were NOT pornographic.

    The Miss America Org. has to be smiling from ear to ear. I used to encourage young women to enter
    pageants to gain confidence and public speaking skills; almost a year ago when Tara problems
    became public ( by the way everyone that competed against her new she was on something) and the MUO
    needed to up their publicity, that all changed!
    I can not encourage any girl or young woman to enter a MUO pageant, mainly because the first question they ask is "Is that the one that Donald Trump is the head of?" As far as Rachels actions on this show, remember she was already her states queen, she had no choice but compete to become Miss USA. She had this thrown in her face by MUO.
    I am sure this is very degrading for her. Miss Uni. was also tossed in the mix. Tara and Katie
    are the reason there is even a show. Sad!!!
    If I had 2 queens with such little respect for their crowns I would just get thru the year and hope that future contestants entering my pageant know that I respect the crown and what it suppose to stand for. The Best of the Best. Not the worst of the worst.
    Good Luck with that concept.

    I'm so sick of the people who bash Tara and Katie after seeing this show, but say, "Oh poor Rachel, they're editing it to make her look bad." There's only so much editing they can do...there have been enough clips of her catty comments and snooty looks to show how she really acts when she's not competing for the crown or doing an interview. The only respectable person in this show is Riyo and it's embarrassing that she's the only one not from this country.

    I am soooo disappointed in this show. Miss USA and Miss Universe used to be respectable until Donald Trump got involved. The girls come off as trashy, immature, catty, and mean. I used to watch these pageants when I was little and was in complete awe of the women that competed because they were so classy, poised and beautiful. I wouldn't let my daughter watch now because I would not want her to aspire to be anything like these girls. AWFUL!

    Wow, these girls are nasty and rude. This show is disgracing pageantry. In particular, Rachel Smith has a lot to learn about this word "maturity" she seems to like to throw around so often. Rachel, you are absolutely the worst excuse for a personality. Have you watched yourself? (constant eye rolling, snide comments and belittling)

    I love all of these women except for the Miss something or other who didn't win but is in the show because of stupidity!! Please take her out of my sight. It's time for the real winners to have the spotlight. I love Tara Conner, but she needs to fade to the background now. I want to get to know Miss USA, Miss Universe and Miss Teen USA, shining the spotlight on the extras is compromising the integrity of the Miss Universe Organization it's like they are getting swayed by things like someone being stupid as is the case of Miss Teen something or other or someone dealing with their personal demons - and kudos Tara Conner I too have a soft spot for you but your role in the "apartment" should not be so much in the foreground now and the focus should be on the current reigning pageant winners. As for the stupid miss teen wherever, even if she had not been so stupid, the current Miss Teen USA is better looking so there is absolutely no reason to keep Miss wherever in the spotlight - a joke doesn't last forever. We still haven't had a chance to get to know Rachel, Riyo and Hilary - there is so much noise with all the other people around. Tara should support not supplant them, and the other miss teen something or other shouldn't even be in the picture. Bring on the real champions!
