Everybody’s talking about the backstage Perez freakout. I think Perez was justified. He had a legitimate technical difficulty, his mic was off, and that’s the worst thing to happen when you’re on stage. Everyone else still had a chance to win because most of them just plain forgot lyrics and used the start over as an excuse to save themselves…
This is Hip Hop: on stage when me and Run ever forgot, you don’t start over — you keep going. The contestants don’t know, but I woulda gave them points on how well they “recovered” and blazed the raps. Perez tried to dis Brat so I knew right then and there and from here on out there’s gonna be some fires burning…This week is gonna be crazy, because Big Boy even said the tension is thick and the feelings and opinions of each contestant is starting to get personal. I just know I’m gonna be more critical now. Lets see who can keep their composure, stay focused and come out on top!
And in other rap news… this whole Kanye/50 Cent thing. It was exciting and good hype for them, but I haven’t heard the full albums of either so I can’t comment on which one is better to me. Its a matter of personal choice to the listener. The best album out now is the new Public Enemy album anyway!!!
I think on the real…. Jason needs to go, and not just because he’s really bad, but I don’t think he’s really into it. I think he loves the people in the show, but he really really aint trying to rap. He’s not one to sit around and rap in the shower or in front of a mirror. He’s lucky, because he has the girls votes saving him.
I have a whole different outlook on these contestants because it was all good doing someone elses raps, but when it came to their own, it was a whole different story. My predictions? Sebastian is good, he is Hip Hop! And Countess is good, she stays in her safety zone though, but she’s good.
