Wow. Heidi reached new heights of betrayal in the latest episode of ‘The Hills’.
Many say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and considering how shady the world considers Spencer to be, are you honestly surprised that Heidi would end up snatching a job under her friend Elodie’s nose?
That brings us to the poll question of the week:
Would you take a job you knew your friend wanted? Yes or No?

It sad really doesn't she realize thatt their she using her free promo work. Without the camera's she just nother nobody in LA!!!
Mark my words when the Hills show come to the end everyone going to go heidi who?????
She run back home crying to her parents
WHY DOESN"T ANY ONE LIKE??? I NEVER DO ANY THING WRONG?? I COME FROM A SMALL TOWN??
even her parents got a good look at spencers personality towards lauren. he has two sides to him,her marriage won't last.,he dosen't even give her the oppertunity to furnish thier home, most women do that. you can tell he still wants a bachlour life. now he's losing his friends with his babyish ways. hedi wouldn't be the way she is if he wasn't in the picture. you can tell she misses her friend. by this time if she wanted to still be friends with lauren she would of met lauren for lunch or dinner by themselves without spencer knowing and talked it out. she dose have a right to come and go as she pleases without him., but it seems he gives her no permission to go anywhere, she always has to mention where she goes and wait for an appoval.
Didn't she see the one that Spencer said he only wanted Heidi to move in with him was to get her away from Lauren? And that he still had his "player" phone. I mean HELLO!!! Heidi has to be deaf, dumb & blind to think that Spencer is going to change his ways!!! KARMA KARMA KARMA!! But.... If you look at the first episodes of "The Hills" it shows what a spoiled little bratty %@$~* Heidi was. She really didn't care about anything much then either.

After reading so many of the other comments I would just like to address two things. To answer the question, yes I would take the job my friend was also applying for but I would DEFINITELY tell her first, or at least get her thoughts on it. I wouldn’t break up a friendship over a job that would come later on in my career after actually earning the position. I actually think that the only reason why Heidi got the job is because she’s a star on The Hills, it’s exposure for the clubs and she’s basically a celebrity. So while Elodie probably did deserve the job, Bolthouse probably only opted to promote Heidi because she’s better for business, which is good and bad for them because she barely has experience but she is still a celebrity. Another interesting thing presented in these comments is the fact people are questioning Heidi’s thought process when she watches these episodes. Either she’s stupid or she just doesn’t care if Spencer hurts her. Did she not see the many times Spencer/Devil has cheated on her? The bunnies, he said he would always be a playboy, the constant flirting with Audrina, and many girls at clubs. She’s just stupid if she can’t see through him, what the hell does she see in him anyway? They don’t even seem to have interesting conversations on the show, he smiles in a creepy way and she stares off into space with a look of confusion…romantic?
Wow, as they grow up (which they have a lot of that to do!) they will realize what huge mistakes they both made! Then it will be too late!
They are both sad little people.
just wow.
i mean, thats all i can say. heidi's a ...idk even know if theres even a word to describe the kind of person she is.
what a biatch :]
and i agree with jen.
heidi's a spencerbot. but oh well.
she'll get what she deserves. what goes around comes around, and payback's a @@@*@.
And I completely acknowledge that this was a job opportunity open to anyone. I think that she should have expressed interest in the job to Elodie though. What a backstabber. And you know what? I bet that it didn't even come down to who was more qualified for the job. I bet they hired Heidi just because Bolthouse would look good on the show. That's probably a factor how she was hired in the first place.
But just to comment on the job situation from the last episode...I honestly think Heidi had every right to apply for the job (and I am one of the nicest people I am told). A new job is fair competition and everyone deserves to advance their career and do what will make them happy. I think they both have passion for event planning and both would obviously want the job and should have a fair shot at it.
I don't know how many of you work in the real world, but business are often legally obligated to make new positions known to everyone and to post it publicly even when they already know they are hiring from in house. Heidi would have found out about the job even if Elodie would not have told her, I assure you!!
Secondly, in an office, even between friends, you wouldn't necessarily discuss if you are applying for the same job...it's all pretty secret and you never know who else is applying for a job you are applying for, friend or foe, it's not supposed to be a huge public discussion. I really think Heidi made it as obvious as she could to Elodie that she planned on applying. Moreover, they are in event planning in LA...this is going to be fierce competition even b/w friends, it's a hard business to get into and I am sure Elodie knows that.
To decline a promotion just because a friend wants it seems odd to me...especially if you are both passionate about it...Now Heidi & Elodie should be able to trust that the boss and HR person would hire who is best qualified and make the process fair, if they didn't do this...then the boss and HR person are in the wrong in this scenario.
Promotions aren't always how you would think they would go either...it really makes no difference at all how long you have worked for a business and your resume may not even come into play at all...so that serving as a basis for why Elodie deserved to be the only one applying and getting the job isn't practical.
Promotions are more often based on who can vouch for you, connections you have (whether famous or not, it is very important to network EARLY and at times work for free just to connect with people), initiatives you have taken without being told (this is HUGE), the impact you have made, going above and beyond, your people skills, your passion, and your personality. If Elodie thought the job was hers based on how long she has been there...that is naive and I really hope she made a better case for herself when applying...that just doesn't happen even in non high profile jobs. How long you are at a place may not say much if you haven't gone above and beyond your role or taken initiative or shown passion or taken the time to network. I don't know how Elodie rated in all the areas I noted above, I really can't say she deserved the job b/c I don't know...how long you are at a job I know doesn't matter though.
Now did Heidi deserve the job? I don't know either...I would like to think the best qualified person won and really it is up to the boss and human resources person to ensure the best person did get the job...if not then they are to blame. And we should be getting far more mad at the way businesses are run and the immoral behavior of the boss and HR in this circumstance rather then harping on Heidi yet again.
