As we approach the season finale of “Making The Band 4,” I can’t help but look forward to the marathon of episodes if for no other reason than to see the show’s former choreographer and judge Laurie Ann Gibson.
You’ll recall Laurie Ann had a boom boom kack fight with Diddy, that abruptly led to her dismissal half way through the season…
Apparently me and my cohorts weren’t the only one’s missing Laurie Ann and her antics to whip the group into little dance machines. Just recently a video from the choreographer appeared online not only thanking the fans for all the emails and support but also pleading her case against the “creative editing” of the show as she states in this clip.
“And if you weren’t aware of it… it definitely was creative editing. I am not a diva,” says Laurie Ann in the video. “By no means would I act out. It was edited… creative editing.”
Since leaving MTB4 Laurie Ann has been shopping a reality show centered around her efforts to record a CD of her own.
We speculate that the networks are interested. She ends the video with a bit of hope.
“See you in two seconds, ’cause the gotcha gotcha is, I’m only beginning.”

I agree with the last 2 Laurie Ann shouldn’t have acted that way if she was really professional then she would have handled it better cuz in life you gotta do what your boss tells you to do regardless if you want to or not. It was Diddy’s show not hers.
August 29th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Here is the point. She did not follow instructions and when asked not to speak at that moment she challenged a man’s ego period. Men have to be men regardless of what. In all these comments everyone is doggn Diddy, but he did come on National TV and humble himself an apologized to oh gurl. So the point is a big headed or self-centered person, would not have apologized. So all of you negative and immature folks around the National, learn your principles in life first. Yall all sound stupid. I am a manager and would have done the same thing if challenged. Peace!

Laurie Ann:
You are a very talented young lady and I am sure you will move on to bigger and better things. You were an important element to that show and I am saddened that we will no longer see you executing your dance moves and sharing your wisdom.
However, I can not get with your charge of creative editing although I know it takes place. But they can not and did not make up the comments that were made, nor your choice to wear a sexy leotard in front of twenty young men. Despite the fact that YOU DID LOOK GOOOooD, it was clearly inappropriate. The guys jaws dropped as mine did. I don’t recall you dressing like that when you were working with “Danity Kane”
KEEP IT REAL, Laurie Ann, your popularity was growing… your hard work was paying off. Your contribution to the show was key to the show’s success. You simply got too big to be second fiddle and it was beginning to show. You could no longer play second fiddle to Diddy. Nor should you!
I believe the fight was staged in order to launch a new show for you. But fake or real, it was entertaining. So I give props to you and Diddy! If Diddy is as smart as I think he is, he will Executive Produce your show. Keep doing your thing girl!
P.S.
I recently found out you were a “fly girl” on In Living Color. Do that “J-Lo thang”, girl.
August 29th, 2007 at 5:00 pm
okay…so laurie ann didnt do what she was told which is a problem but when u have someone as arrogant and as ignorant as Diddy thinking that he can speak to you in whatever fashion he chooses a person tends to get just as ignorant in defense. i think that had Diddy taken a different approach and spoke in a better manner than none of the drama would have occurred!
August 29th, 2007 at 5:01 pm
Everyone is talking about how Laurie Ann needed to be professional because she is working for Puffy, but in reality Puffy needed to act professional because he is the boss. If he had a problem with what she was doing then he should have taken her aside and they should have a had chance to work out the problems not on national tv. As for the fishnet tights that is what most choreographers work in, especially people who teach hip-hop ballet. I can see why she was frustrated because she had a job to do and only hours to completed, no one can work miracles but God so Laurie Ann had to do what she had to do. Puffy’s show is great but sometimes he needs to learn to be humble, just remember the same people that you meet going to the top you will meet coming down, so anyone’s career can be depleted in an instance. So don’t burn bridges because you never know when you have to cross them again.
August 29th, 2007 at 6:27 pm
I agree with Karen ^ .. the leotard with the stockings wasnt professional .. i mean come on now your working with guys that are damn well going to look at a women thats showin her figure .. but she wants to yell at them for not working to their protential .. so whats up with that .. if you want someone to focus that outfit aint gonna cut it..forreal..anyway i think she deserved what came to her because this is a competition and if u dont follow the rules..u obviously arnt takin it as serious as you should .. and everyone knows that diddy likes things to be organized, practiced.etc…which gave diddy the right to flip how he did..i dont think he really cared that it was on national tv .. the man will make his point anywhere he wants..which makes him so great cause hes straight up about stuff..Laurie Ann isnt a bad person its just diddy and her are kind of the same so they clash ..their both bossy people that want the guys to work to the best of their ability.. thats what happend.
August 29th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
LA was sooo full of herself and wanted to be the center of attention on the show. She had a job and didn’t do. Not only did she make the guys look bad but she tried to make excuses saying it was “the test”. It wasn’t her show to make decisions on when and how they should be tested. Diddy was in charge and if he didn’t want to hear her sorry “interjections” she should have kept her mouth shut. That’s how it works when you’re the EMPLOYEE, you follow instructions. She did it for the air time.
August 29th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
i think that she should do making the band 5 so i like her
August 29th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
well. all i have to say is that she is the best choreographer so ..
bye
August 29th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
It was sad to see how she acted. Diddy was right, she was way out of line. You just can’t expect to talk down to diddy on his own show, she looked for what she got..
August 29th, 2007 at 8:24 pm
I don’t recall LA wearing leotards and fishnet stockings in the previous Making The Band (girls group). She was very arrogant too, thank GOD they got rid of her. Also, the guys didn’t have a problem learning the dances with her replacement, I think he was a better choreographer! I was hoping Diddy was going to come up with 2 groups…
August 29th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
L.A. stand up for yourself girl!! Diddy is only running the craziness in his mind. You brought a unique flava to the show and I am going to miss you. That hoodrat looking chick who is replacing you will NEVA be able to bring the funk and the noise that you did. To all the haters out there - never let a man rule you like he is the King of YOUR domain. Take credit for what you bring to the table and leave all that other foolishness at the door.
August 29th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
I feel that you have to give respect to get respect and just because your a famous person does not mean you have to talk to people to people the way Puffy did. He seems arrogant to me.
August 29th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
I think that she was doin way too much in the episode that I saw and she deserved to get kicked to the curb, plus she should have been fired for hollerin at them, especially my man lil mikey.
August 29th, 2007 at 8:40 pm
I LOVE DONNIE. The Band Diddy picked will be great. I can’t wait to see more. I’m glad L.A.G. was fired and the new instructor was hired. He was an asset to the show. I hope he’s back next season. Keep up the good work Diddy and MTV.
August 29th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
DONNIE’S A CUTIE!!!
:]
but anyways
i love the band diddy made!
i love this seasons MTB
cant wait til MTB5
haha
August 29th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
I stand by her a 100% without her the show doesn’t have that extra edge. She is entertaining and is so talented. I think Diddy is so obnixious and I don’t like his attitude. I believe her and stand by her and whatever she chooses to do I will support her.
August 29th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
i think that lorian is a very good cheorgrapher but is arrogant and diddy is can be nice and arrogant as well i think they were both at fault in this situation..thats my opinion
August 29th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
La went crazy.I can understand how she caught that superstar sickness but it was P.Diddy’s show and thru the whole season she just couldn’t sit back and relax and let him run his s@!* I think he just lost his patience with her from all the seasons put together.
August 29th, 2007 at 11:41 pm
Yes, Laurie Ann should have gotten kicked off the show! Although Diddy has his issues, she was way out of line! She was definitely playing it up for the cameras, and trying to get some airtime! What can she really talk about on her own show? I really dont think its that serious! She should have stayed in her place, and kept the gig she had! Laurie Ann you arent THAT IMPORTANT OR INTERESTING!
August 29th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Laurie Ann, You may not had been given the time you needed to share your gift that God gave you for the young men on the show, but at the same time you were not a role model by the way you reacted on the show.
So don’t blame anyone but yourself for getting kicked off the show.
Take charge for your own action and make a difference for many young people who see you as a gift to help there dreams come true.
It’s simple
Believe in yourself.
August 30th, 2007 at 12:10 am
I think that La should have been kicked off cuz she wasn’t doing what was expected of her she is working for Diddy and since she wasn’t doing what Diddy had wanted he had no choice in the music indistry things need to be done a certain way and it wasn’t happening. La is a very good dancer though we will see her again.
Anyways! OMG i almost died when Diddy announced the band don’t get me wrong i like who was choosen but when i heard that Donnie wasn’t in there i freaked. I sorry, but i luv Donnie (he’s so cute). I was very excited when Diddy announced that he (Donnie) would instead be getting a solo contract w/Bad Boy Records. Very smart move Diddy! If you wouldn’t have signed him someone else would have, because of the big reactions he gets. Wish the MTB4 the best & Donnie much luv can’t wait for cd!
August 30th, 2007 at 12:45 am
I am so happy for all of those who made the band…Can’t wait until a CD drops…Good luck 2 you also DONNIE on becoming a solo Artist…OH YEAH AND I LOVE YOU QWANELL!!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 1:40 am
i love u Qwanell (Q) your freaking sexy with talent and your goofy just all around hot!!!
anyways… laurie ann is wack she was even wack in the movie honey you would think she would have a nice body being a dancer but for her thats not the case!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 5:23 am
So the band is made, Donnie got a solo deal, what is going to happen to Deangelo??? I love him!!! He needs his own record deal too.
August 30th, 2007 at 10:11 am
I think Laurie Ann had to act that way because of MTV’s ratings and who knows, she probably was tired of Diddy. I like them both, but to see them work together for so long and cannot talk about it later to patch things up was a sad thing for me. I understand that Diddy has a lot of money, connects, and has a big spot in the industry; I feel as though he is self centered and has no respect for others. To be a professional producer, rapper, etc., he should have set a better example when him and Laurie Ann had their disputes. It’s a shame what WE will do for t.v. VERY ENTERTAINING THOUGH!
August 30th, 2007 at 10:22 am
Laurie Ann is quoted as saying she is not a diva and that creative editing showed her in a negative light. LA was overacting the entire time she was on the show. Here’s the gotcha gotcha, the gotcha gotcha is that she will be fine. I agree with the people that wonder why she is not built like a dancer. She is kinda thick to be prancing around in those outfits. Diddy asked his people to schedule a time for LA to practice with the group. She made her own decision to change a direct order. The show was not the Laurie Ann Gibson Show. She can make all of the decisions on that show.
LA is showing age in her face and her body. She needs to start the next chapter in her life. I am sure she would not keep a person on staff who makes decisions for him or herself after receiving a task from LA.
August 30th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
WHAT HAPPENED TO BRIAN H???!! i was very upset that no mention was made or anything like the comment that was made about Dyshon. I mean, lets be real, Brian H has one of the best voices out of the pack. It woulda been nice if he was recognized as such. and where was he during the interviews after the show? we saw carlos & dyshon..
August 30th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
I think that LA was not acting like a diva, Diddy was. He needs to stop talking to people like that. I think that he was being rude and disrespectful and I think she was getting tired of him anyway. She’s been working with him since forever and it was just build up anger that she needed to get out. He had no right to talk down on her like that, like she’s some child. I don’t really care much for Diddy because he’s only out for himself and not his artist and he thinks he’s god.
August 30th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
laurie ann ur awesome!!! excelent job!!! keep the good job!!! completely a role model 4 all da girlzZz =)
August 30th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
I think that Lorie Ann was a little over the top the whole show!!! The show only had room for one diva like Diddy said and it was him. If you caught a couple of the episodes especailly the one when Jonathan decided to quit during her rehearsal; she was a mini Diddy!! She was like peace out baller and telling the other guys they should have been mad at him for wating their time. Dude, if he wanted to quit, it was his perogative. I am glad that she stood up for herself to Diddy because he’s good for trying to be condescending. But, I think it was time for Lorie Ann to peace out. Best wishes!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 12:55 pm
Beautiful Eyes Diddy! So freakin hot!! Love his personality and silly TV Act.
LA was so disrespectful Diddy had to rid her just because of that alone. She should have done what was expected of her in the first place. Unnecessary drama but good TV.
Sexy Mike is my Inspiration…love the band, bad azz 5!! The show & after show were great couldn’t get enough.
Donny’s contract, love it! ;)km
August 30th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
LAURIE ANN YOU TRUELY ARE A ROLE MODEL FOR ME AND TONS OF OTHER YOUNG LADIES OUT THERE. THE PASSION YOU HAVE FOR DANCING IS AMAZING AND THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE NEED IS THAT MOTIVATION TO GET UP AND TO DO WHAT THEY LOVE TO DO… I THINK NO I KNOW DIDDY WAS WRONG AND YOU WERE JUST DOING YOUR JOB. THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO AND FOR BEING AN INSPIRATION…. ALWAYS LOVE FROM UTICA N.Y….. AMALIA
August 30th, 2007 at 3:06 pm
I just look at the episode this season. I was so excited about the final selection. I was really happy when Diddy selected “sexy MIKE. I was voting for him throughout the season
August 30th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
That TRUDIVA chick doesnt even know what she is talking about that dumb B***H!!! The band was perfect, and i think Donnie will make Diddy a lot of money, its a good buisiness move!! And, i think he is talented. and for Laurie Ann, when you have a job, you do what is expected from you. And so what he doesnt yell at his peoples (the guys at least.) Like who? Bryan Coxx, who is laurie ann compared ot some one like bryan coxx??? UMMMMMMM…… NO ONE!! thanx for your time, love the show, make another band diddy, your very good at it dont let that talent go to waste. OH yeah, when the rocords coming out?? post it or something.. BAD BOY$ 4 LIFE!!!!
Slick Nick
August 30th, 2007 at 3:28 pm
keep up the good work. and keep on kicking there assies. she is a good person. and she works hard for her job.
August 30th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
I thought the end was great. I only wished there was a place for the top ten. It was hard to make the right choice in order that all was happy. De Angelo my pick hope he get a deal with some one.
August 30th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
well i don’t think she did the right thing.you just don’t insult diddy or any body you are working for.she got excatly wha tshe deserves.ha ha haaa
August 30th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
Diddy actually could have made 2 bands with all the talent that he had. I am happy with the band but I really wanted Mike & D’Angelo to make it. I’m so happy for Big Mike because he really deserved to make the band and he has the personality to suceed. I just wish D’Angelo would have made the band too. I hope someone picks him up because I would buy his album in a heartbeat. I think he has a great voice, look, and a humble & calming personality. He took the intiative to cut off his braids on his own, he wasn’t crying like Robert. That should have meant something. I also didn’t realize how good of a singer Q is. I’m glad he made the band too. He deserves it. I can’t wait until they drop an album. And congratulations to Donnie.
August 30th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
If this chick really had any talent she would have been around for more than a few episode of MTB.
Yeah.. she was a fly girl, but so was J-Lo.. and neither one of yall can dance…. unless stiff moving is whats hot..!!
Now I guess it’ll be another 10 years b4 we see you again…. THANK GOD!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
Brian H really needed to be in the band or he should have got that deal as a solo artist because he really did his thing on that ballad version. It was mad talent but I think Brian really need to be apart of something but hopefully someone will recognize his talent and give him a deal, real rap!
August 30th, 2007 at 7:01 pm
I am very happy with the members of the band (I love Willie and Mike) I wish that D’Angelo could have been among the winners; however all guys were great and all deserved it, I am sure that Diddy had a hard time letting anyone go. Diddy is the man so you have to respect his decision.
I am glad that Donny got a solo deal b/c he was great, but being the last white man standing he would not have fit in with the look of the group even though he deserved it. I cried when Diddy announced that, b/c I felt him and his family’s emotions (what goes thru your mind when you have succeeded your ultimate dream).
Robert really won me over on the finally, I felt his determination and that boy can really SANG he sent chill bumps through my vein and if I wasn’t married and his girl was still trippen then I’d holla …. Being that I am a singer myself, a real soul singing sista from the south it takes a lot to move me but I was really taken by their voices, those boyz got talent. BEST SEASON EVA!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 7:32 pm
DIDDY, PLEASE PUT THE BALLAD VERSION OF EXCLUSIVE OUT FOR SALE… CAN WE GET A VIDEO OR SOMETHIN’?!
AND YOU KNOW THIS MAAAAAAAAN!!!
August 30th, 2007 at 7:37 pm
Hi my name is Daina. I enjoyed the show. I wish diddy could have made 2 band but the band he made will make history. I am so proud of Mike and he really made some peoples feel better about themselves and their weight. All da guys r handsome and truly deserved to be in the band. I wish da best for da guys and i will keep them in my prayers. I love yall
August 30th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Listen! I am really proud of Diddy finally making a reality sho enjoyable to watch. I really believe that Diddy made a great choice and he is true business man. He pick the right people with the the right voices and personality to make his band. I di understand why Diddy did not choose the other four guys to be in his band or even a solo artist. It is all about the Benjamins Baby! Despite what people say about Donny…Diddy You made a decision that benfited you and Donny. If Diddy had let him go, he would have regretted that decision. It would have been costly. Congrats Diddy on a fine job and to all the fellas choosen. It will surely change your lives. Diddy try coming to the Caribbean…especially St.Thomas(US Virgin Islands) and bring Donny with you.
August 30th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Lori Ann is the bomb and I’m not being biased because I grew up in the T.O area where Lori Ann grew up. She had the je n’sais que that balanced out the show. Diddy is an obvious ass to work with and for, so getting your start with him is a gift and a curse. Brian H. should have received the accolades that he gave Dyshon. I’d much rather go to church or bed w/ Brian H.’s voice in my ear. But unfortunately because I’m a demographic the didster doesn’t consider when making a damn band…I”M a GROWN ASS WOMAN. Hello!! I understand the people he chose for the actual band and Donnie as a solo artist is a jackpot idea, but brother every soul on that stage deserved a check and a label. Those dudes put in work and the it showed. Kudos to Q, who represents the Roc ( Rochester) you are a quasi-homeboy too. And the most prolific sleeper to make the band yet. Its good to know nice guys can have great finishes
August 30th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
I was shocked when I realized that Diddy did not choose to make two bands. That would have been a better strategy on his part based on the talent that was left standing on that stage. I agree with many others who have posted their opinions regarding the outcome of this show that the competition was fierce. The fact remains that all the guys left to compete on the finale all deserved to have a contract. This may prove to be a curse to Diddy. I am sure another label will recognize the remaining individuals’ talent and sign them all. What would be even funnier is if those other labels sell more records with these new artists and go on to be platinum selling artist.
August 30th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
I just watched the clip online showing the finalist and there was a shot out or two to God from Diddy. He also spoke of God in his short chat about Laurie Ann.I was just wondering what God he was thanking? Is it the God who loved so much that He gave His only begotten Son…the one who shows agape love or is it someone or something that he has allowed to take the place of the Alpha and Omega?See my God is the first God the only God and he does not “pimp people and their talents for a profit. He never disrespects His children, and He definitely doesn’t pit brother against brother or turn a woman into a scantly dressed harlot all in the name of the mighty dollar. Don’t get me wrong Diddy has God given talent we all do….it just appears to me that he has either advertently or inadvertently let satan twist his perception.Wouldn’t it be marvelous if all those God given voices lifted up His name on the regularWhat profits a man to gain the whole wide world and lose his soul?As for respect..respect God and true respect will be returned to you.I love you all with the love of Christ and will keep you in my prayers.
August 31st, 2007 at 8:10 am
I’m Not A Hater I Like The Band, But In My Opinion I Think DeAngelo Should Have Made The Band Because He Was Really One Of The Best Singers There And To See Him Not Make It Was Very Painful Too Me. I Respect Diddy But He Didnt Make A Great Choice By Not Picking DeAngelo I’m Sorry..
August 31st, 2007 at 9:19 am
I think this was the best season! I never have liked the previous dance choreographer. U can tell she wanted to be the star and it was not about her. I personally don’t like the way Diddy approaches situations also, but hay, he rich with money and I’m not! I am rich in a way that he would never be! I’ll take that over money and fame any day. With that said, he is a good business man. Donnie is very talented and I was happy to see him get a contract. I love the ballot of the song the band did over. I will surely buy that record. When will it be available on I tunes? I’m proud of all those guys. They tried out for and made the band without compromising their character and with maintaining dignity and respect.
