With the long ago sunset on shows such as ‘The OC’, we were left to wonder now “Where is Laguna Beach?” Non-MTV watchers might respond to your question with “Hey dude its in Cali.” You will secretly consider this person a toolbox, smile politely and still struggle with the wonder. Like your friend who returned to school after getting some plastic surgery, Laguna Beach got a little bit of a makeover.
The beach is new, the cast is fresh and the girls are blonder than ever.
Chrissy is the narrator of the show, and is setting up her last year in high school where in Newport Harbor high school it seems there is an endless permutation of girls to guys. She introduces us to the idea that her parents are strict. I can definitely relate to strict parents cause mine were hella strict but for goodness gracious, your parents took all your friends to Palm Springs! How strict could they really be?
Just when I was about to stick to my guns with this idea, we are introduced to the world’s worst ringtone (Chrissy you have to do something about that…) signifying the call of the Dad.
Tsk Tsk Chrissy. Didn’t you hear him? He said no boys in the room!
And now you’ve made your mom upset too! Way to go Chrissy!
To redeem herself, Chrissy walks her dog around Clay a few days after and asks what he’s doing. (He’s obviously washing his car.) They begin to talk about the awkward moment and it is only then that I realize Chrissy and Clay have the chemistry of the powdered donut next to the chocolate donut at the local donut shop. Both are pretty good looking but don’t seem to interact too well.
I guess you could convince me that there is potential in their relationship being that he likes to play golf and her dog’s name is Bogey… but I just don’t see the hole in one. Unless we’re talking about donuts. Then I see two.
