Hi, this is Ashley! Just writing to say that we are still together and staying strong. Marriage is not easy when you get married young. But we are hanging in there. Life after marriage is good. Both sides of our family are accepting and supporting.(Well they have no choice NOW!). We are both working and going to school. No, Byron is not taking the Spanish class. But I will make sure he does SOON. Everybody looks at us different now that we are married. It is almost like we are the couple to look up to. I don’t know why.
All the fighting on the show was not called for…we were just under stress. To all the inter-racial couples: you need to stay strong and not worry about what anybody has to say. They are just hating because they don’t have it as well as you do. You have to be able to work and stay strong together because, with one person putting all the effort in the relationship, it will not work. To get any more tips, just write me and I will be more than happy to suggest something.
Peace out,
Mrs. Bourgeois!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah - We have added a new member to the family. I bet you thought I would never consider it. But Byron wanted to add another member so bad, I had to please my husband. IT’S A BOY!!!!!!!! When you look into his eyes, you can’t help but fall in love. His clothes are so tiny and adorable. I can’t believe I didn’t consider it sooner. His legs are so small and chunky. I am scared to pick him up because he looks so fragile. His hair is so healthy; soft and shiny. I am so excited to be a mother. Finally Byron got his Little Bourgeois!!!!! We named him Prince Bourgeois, and he looks just like his daddy!!! He is the best puppy in the world!!!!

And yes, you should ignore any negative comments. Love is what it important.

P.S. ARLYNE SAYS HI
I saw the show at least twice, and I can really relate to the situation that you and Byron are in. My fiancee is white, and I am african-american and panamanian. Our families have never met, and both sides are nearly dead set against us marrying so young. I'm 21 and he's 23. His father is dead set against him marrying a black girl and hs opted to not even show up at the wedding, but his mom's side of the family is very nice. We don't have any racial tension with my family.
I really give you two kudos for staying so strong and dealing with that AND everything else. My fiancee and I are getting married August 11, 2007 and thanks to you and Byron we know that we aren't the only interracial couple trying to take on issues like this!
Also, where did you get your dress it was georgeous! I'm still searching for my dress. It's hard to find a beautiful dress for plus size girls that's not out of this world expensive!
Are you on myspace i'd love to chat sometime!
Peace
<3 You, Erica
Love, your mother-in-law
